Dear Confreres,

"If the Lord does not build, then the labor is in vain." Psalm 127:1

With immense joy and gratitude, we are pleased to share with you a significant development in the life of our Delegation. After a period of study, discernment, and consultation, our Superior General and his Council have granted approval for us to begin an exploratory presence in the Diocese of Kottar, Tamil Nadu.

This new step marks a moment of grace and hope for our Congregation. The Diocese of Kottar, under the pastoral guidance of His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Nazarene Soosai, has warmly welcomed us and encouraged us to explore how the charism of St. Louis Orione might respond to the pastoral and charitable needs of the local Church. During our recent visit, we encountered openness, collaboration, and a genuine spirit of fraternity among priests, religious, and lay faithful.

A concrete possibility has emerged in the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima, Kandarvilagam, where suitable accommodation is available for a small community. The house, located at Don Orione House, #4/50, Kandarvilagam, Vaniyakudy (PO) 629251, belongs to the brother of a Salesian Priest and could be rented for our use. This location would allow us to live our community life while remaining closely connected to the parish and its pastoral activities.

This initiative will be carried out in complete collaboration with the Diocese, ensuring that our presence is fully integrated into the pastoral vision and mission of the local Church. We are deeply aware that Divine Providence has been guiding us from the very beginning of this journey. From the time we started exploring this reality, things have been moving ahead very quickly, confirming the Lord's hand in this mission.

Our intention during this initial period is to integrate ourselves into the life of the Diocese, participate in pastoral ministry wherever required, and particularly explore the needs of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups who may benefit from our charitable mission. In the name of Don Orione, we would like to thank sincerely Fr. Christopher and Fr. Michael Raj who have been disposed themselves willingly for this new mission.

We are delighted to announce that the official blessing of Don Orione House will take place on 23rd June 2026, coinciding with the 154th Birthday of our Father and Founder, St. Louis Orione. The blessing will be conferred by the Vicar General of the Diocese of Kottar, Rev. Fr. Rufus, in the presence of a significant number of diocesan priests, local officials, parish representatives, and members of our religious family.

We entrust this new beginning to the maternal care of Our Lady of Good Health. May this exploratory presence be a seed of hope and service, bearing fruit for the glory of God and the good of His people. Let us rejoice together in this blessing and continue to support one another with prayer and fraternity.

In Faith

OLH
